MEDIA STATEMENT ON THE OPERATIONS OF OFFICE OF PRESIDENCY IN ZAMBIA.

We write the media houses in order to register our dissatisfaction and displeasure in the way the Office of Presidency has been sidelined by the New Dawn Administration.
As an Organization championing Constitutional issues, Ethics, Patriotism, Good Governance and Democracy, we have been observing the unfolding of events in the Country from the first day President Hakainde Hichilema was Sworn Into Office on August 26, 2021.
Below are some of our observations; -
- ALLOWING A PRIVATE AID DE CAMP (ADC) OR BODY GUARD RECEIVING THE INSTRUMENTS OF POWER.
- THE USAGE OF AN UNOFFICIAL REGISTERED PRIVATE VEHICLE TRANSPORTING A SWORN IN HEAD OF STATE FROM HEROES STADIUM.
- FAILURE BY THE REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT SHIFTING INTO STATE HOUSE (AN OFFICIAL RESIDENCE OF ANY SERVING HEAD OF STATE IN ZAMBIA).
- USING NATIONAL RESOURCES FROM THE TREASURY (NATIONAL COFFERS) IMPROVING THE PRIVATE FACILITY HOSTING THE PRESIDENT.
- ALLOWING POLITICAL CADRES TO BE MANAGING STATE AFFAIRS INCLUDING STATE HOUSE WEBSITE, SCREENING OF VISITORS ACCESSING THE PRESIDENT AND ACCESSING CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS AND CORRESPONDENCES TAKING PLACE BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT AND THE INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED.
- SCRUTNIZING OF APPOINTED INDIVIDUALS BEFORE SWEARING IN TAKES PLACE.
- PERSONALIZING SENSITIVE STATE PROPERTIES LIKE THE PRESIDENTIAL JET, SETTING UP OF A MILITARY BASE AND ALLOWING SOME FOREIGNERS ACCESSING CLASSIFIED DETAILS ABOUT OUR COUNTRY.
- LACK OF THOROUGH CONSULTATIONS AND CONSESUS IN THE RUNNING OF AFFAIRS IN THE COUNTRY.
As an Organization, we find the above matters and numerous others to be so enomous to be ignored. The National Peace, Unity, Tranquility, Harmony and Security of our Country are under threat and are at stake.
We are calling upon the New Dawn Administration to be weary and mindful that they will be held Accountable for every action they are taking. As a Country Zambia is Governed and Ruled by its Constitution and no single person is above the Laws of Zambia.
